Puzzled by your blog.3 different people, 3 countries. One ancient language, One history.Maybe an article of who you are and how come you can still speak ladino.Try to get the recipe!
My slightly modified version has less oil and more honey (used to be equal parts):Preheat oven to 350In a medium saucepan combine1 cup water1 1/4 cup honey3/4 cup canola oil Bring to a boil (keep an eye on it; once it starts to foam, it can boil over very quickly, then remove from heat.Stir in 1 cup chopped walnuts and 3 cups flour. Pat the dough evenly into a 13x9 glass pan. The dough is hot, so I use the back of a wooden spoon to whack it in as much as possible and then use my hands to finish. After approximately 10 minutes of baking, cut into 24 and pour approximately 1/3 cup honey overReplace in oven. Add another 1/3 cup of honey after another 10 minutes or so. Repeat once more. Remove when edges start to brown - 35-40 minutes. Pour (at least)1/2 cup honey over top. Garnish with walnut halves if you like.
thanks to all, Newtols, I will try your recipe and let you know, where are you from?Sarah
